Oberwil bei Büren is a municipality in the Seeland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

The neighboring communities, starting from the north and clockwise, are Rüti bei Büren , Buchegg , Lüterswil-Gächliwil , Biezwil , Schnottwil and Büren an der Aare . Oberwil is surrounded by hills and forest, only there is no forest in the direction of Schnottwil. Because of the hilly terrain, the area was particularly suitable for building mills in the late Middle Ages.

There are many preserved mills in Oberwil bei Büren. One is the Otti family's flour mill, which is still in operation and grinds organic grain.

The former sawmill is now an adventure house that can be rented for special occasions. On the facade on the mountain side is the former gate of the town of Bern's grain house, which a sawmill had dismantled at the time. Today the water wheel drives a generator.

Another mill was located directly under the sawmill, which is now used as a residential building. The remaining water wheel also drives a generator.
