Until December 31, 2012, Niederried bei Kallnach was a political municipality in the Seeland administrative district of the canton of Bern in Switzerland . On January 1, 2013, it merged with Kallnach .

In addition to the residents' community, there was a civic community with the family names Burri, Köhli, Tillmann and Weber . The partner municipality is Nisowice in the Czech Republic .

The neighboring communities starting from the north and clockwise were Kallnach , Bargen BE , Radelfingen , Kerzers and Fräschels .

In the southeast of the former municipality is the Niederried reservoir, which is only partially located in the former municipality. It is part of the inventory of the Ramsar Convention , it is a wetland for waterbirds and waders of international importance. From there, part of the Aare is routed through a tunnel to the Kallnach power station .
