Charles "Buddy" Robinson (born September 30, 1991 in Bellmawr , New Jersey ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League since July 2018 and at the same time for their farm team , the Stockton Heat , plays in the American Hockey League as the right winger . His brother Eric is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Robinson, who was born in the US state of New Jersey , spent the beginning of his junior career in the lower class junior league of the Canadian province of Ontario . From the summer of 2011 he attended Lake Superior State University for two years , where he was active during his studies for the university's ice hockey team in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

After completing his studies in March 2013, the undrafted striker was signed by the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League . Until the end of the 2014/15 season he was used exclusively for their farm team , the Binghamton Senators , in the American Hockey League . Also in the 2015/16 season , in which he made his NHL debut for Ottawa, Robinson was mainly active for Binghamton. After spending the first half of the 2016/17 game year there, he was transferred to the San Jose Sharks together with Zack Stortini and a seven-round suffrage in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft . In return, they sent Tommy Wingels to Ottawa. In the San Jose Sharks franchise , the attacker was used for the San Jose Barracuda farm team .

After the season, however, Robinson's contract in San Jose was not renewed, so he joined the Winnipeg Jets as a free agent in July 2017 . In July 2018, he also signed a two-year contract with the Calgary Flames .
