CGG is a French exploration group that provides geological and geophysical services primarily to the oil and gas industry.
CGG was founded in 1931 by Conrad Schlumberger as Compagnie Générale de Géophysique . In 2007, CGG took over the American competitor Veritas DGC. The company offers a wide range of exploration services such as reflection and refraction seismics .
