Icade is a French listed company that manages and develops real estate . Icade invests in residential and commercial real estate as well as healthcare facilities. The main geographical focus for investments is in the greater Paris area and other French metropolitan areas.

The company has its origins in the housing company Société Centrale Immobilière de la Caisse des Dépôts ( SCIC ), which was founded in 1954 by the state-owned Caisse des Dépôts . The aim was to alleviate the housing shortage after the Second World War. Through the consistent use of prefabricated construction elements , around 41,800 residential units had been completed by the end of 1956. In 1964, SCIC built the first hospital designed by the company. In the following years SCIC was involved in a large number of new hospital buildings. Around a third of all French hospitals were completed in the 1960s under the planning of the SCIC. It was only since 1994 that the company began to focus more and more on office properties. In 2003 the name of SCIC was changed to Icade. With the sale of part of the shares in Icade by the Caisse des Dépôts in the course of an IPO , Icade was partially privatized in 2006. With the sale of the residential construction business in 2009, a real estate company was created that is mainly limited to office properties and buildings for the healthcare sector.

Icade shares are part of the CAC Mid 60 and Euronext 100 share indices . The main shareholder of the company is the Caisse des Dépôts with a share of 38.77% (as of April 2019).
