Trigano is a French company that sells RVs, caravans, camping items, garden equipment and transportable prefabricated houses. The products are offered on the market under a large number of brands. With 32,735 motorhomes sold (2016/17 financial year), Trigano regards itself as the European market leader in this segment. The company's shares are traded on the Paris Stock Exchange in the CAC Mid 60 segment .

Foundation phase

In 1935 the textile trader Edgard Trigano began to sell textiles with its own brand "Trigano". This was the origin of the company. At this time, paid leave was legally introduced in France for the first time and there was an increasing desire for holiday travel. Edgard Trigano specialized in the sale of canvas and made-up tents with his own brand. At that time, camping was still in its infancy as a leisure activity. The company is still active today in this business area, which was then growing rapidly.

Ten years later, in 1945, Edgard's son Raymond and his brothers founded the Trigano company for the trade in camping and sporting goods. The business developed successfully. Through his brother Gilbert Trigano , contacts arose with Gérard Blitz , the founder of Club Méditerranée , to supply the typical Club-Med tent villages of the time. In 1971 the company's product range was expanded to include self-made caravans. In 1974 the company ran into financial difficulties. Bank Crédit Lyonnais helped the company and then became the sole owner.

Growth phase

In 1981, François Feuillet took over the management of the company and advocated starting the production of mobile homes. In 1984 Bernard and François Feuillet acquired all shares in the company at a 50:50 ratio. Six years later, François Feuillet acquired the shares from his partner and became sole owner for a few years. Even today, the Feuillet family is still the majority owner.

In 1998 Trigano's shares were floated on the stock exchange. This was the beginning of a major growth phase through company acquisitions, especially in the mobile home sector, including:

  • Autostar (France) 1998
  • Caravans International (Italy) 1999
