Elis is a listed French textile service group. The company rents workwear, offers cleaning services and sells hygiene products for washrooms. In September 2017, Elis took over the British textile service provider Berendsen . This was formerly a listed company itself and brought around 15,000 employees to the entire group.

Elis was founded in 1968 but has roots in a laundry founded in 1883 by the French Leducq family. When it was founded, Elis was the abbreviation for E urope Li nge S ervice ( Europe Laundry Service ). By taking over companies in Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Germany, Elis expanded on a European level from the 1970s. From the 1990s, branches were opened in Luxembourg, Italy and Switzerland. The company has been represented in Brazil since 2010. From there, Elis expanded its business activities to Chile and Colombia. Since going public in 2015, the company's shares have been traded on Euronext Paris . Elis shares are part of the CAC Mid 60 and Next 150 stock indices .
