history

In 1968 the Hamburg car dealership Opel Dello became one of Europe's first independent leasing companies: Dello Leasing GmbH & Co. The increasing leasing activities of the traditional car dealership prompted the then managing director Hans Ravenborg to take this step. Five years later the Europe-wide orientation followed. Interleasing Dello also operated beyond the borders of Germany . In 1974, with the participation of other German Opel dealers, this led to the establishment of the international car leasing association Interleasing Europe.

The four Dello Leasing locations in Germany initially operated on their own. In 1981 the agencies in Hamburg , Düsseldorf , Frankfurt am Main and Augsburg merged under the umbrella of Interleasing D AG. In 1983 ALD AutoLeasing D GmbH emerged from this. In the following year, the signs continued to point to growth. 30 car dealerships have now participated in ALD AutoLeasing D. Therefore, it was time to expand the company to include a bank . The German bank / GEFA Bank joined in 1984 at ALD Auto Leasing D.

That of the product range the company expanded during the 1990s steadily. In 1992, through the cooperation with Garanta Finanzdienst GmbH, sales and purchase financing as well as investment loans were added. With the takeover of Interleasing France SARL, ALD AutoLeasing D started vehicle leasing activities in France in 1993 . Three years later, she entered the Czech market with the acquisition of AutoInterLeasing CR sro.

The service Fleet Management had now added to its range, the ALD Auto Leasing D. With the takeover of the Munich company Car Professional Fuhrparkmanagement und Beratungsgesellschaft mbh & Co. (CPM), this offer was significantly expanded in 1996 with the newly acquired know-how. In the same year, ALD AutoLeasing D promoted the leasing and sales financing business with dealers of various brands. It took over the AMA group and thus also the joint ventures with Saab and Subaru .

In 2000, the Bank German Motor Vehicle Industry (BDK) emerged from the cooperation that ALD AutoLeasing D had entered into within the framework of Garanta Finanzdienst since 1992 . The BDK is a professional bank that promotes the independence of the medium-sized automotive industry from manufacturers, importers and manufacturer's own financial service providers.

In 2001, Deutsche Bank parted from its entire European asset finance, leasing and fleet management business due to internal restructuring measures . New Owner of ALD Auto Leasing D was the French Societe Generale . The fleet financier then strengthened its international orientation and established branches in a total of 43 countries around the world by February 2019 . The company is present through cooperations and a. with Wheels Inc. ( USA , Canada ) and Fleet Partners ( Ireland , Australia , New Zealand , Puerto Rico ) even in 55 countries.

Due to a corporate restructuring within the group of companies, the retail and end customer business was outsourced to a new company in 2005: ALD Lease Finanz GmbH , a subsidiary of Bank Deutsches Motorengewerbe (BDK). The commercial fleet area for vehicle fleets has since been operating under the name ALD Automotive, a brand of ALD AutoLeasing D. Car Professional Management (CPM) is a subsidiary of ALD Automotive and is known for the comprehensive fleet management of purchased, rental, leasing and mixed fleets responsible.
