Canaman is a Philippine municipality in the province of Camarines Sur . It is Bikolano , Filipino / Tagalog and English spoken.
The municipality of Canaman is centrally located in the province of Camarines Sur on the island of Luzon . The borough of Canaman is bordered by Magarao parish to the north , Camaligan and Gainza parishes to the south , Naga City to the east, Libmanan and Pamplona parishes to the west, and the Bicol River to the southwest . Canaman is 6 km wide from north to south, and 14 km long from east to west.
The borough of Canaman is made up of 24 barangays . Nine of them are urban barangays while the remaining fifteen are agricultural barangays. A large part of the population lives from growing rice .
The name Canaman comes from the word Kana , which means " building materials ". It is connected locatively with the suffix -man ; this then creates a word that “indicates a place” in which there are “building materials”.
