The district of Cajamarquilla is located in the province of Ocros in the Ancash region in western Peru . The district was founded on October 23, 1907. It has an area of 78.6 km². The 2017 census counted 321 residents. In 1993 the population was 214, in 2007 429. The district administration is located in the 3514 m high village of Cajamarquilla with 312 inhabitants (as of 2017). Cajamarquilla is located about 22 km east-northeast of the provincial capital Ocros .
Geographical location
The district of Cajamarquilla is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera in the extreme northeast of the province of Ocros. The Río Pativilca , which flows south, forms the eastern boundary of the district.
The district of Cajamarquilla borders in the southwest with the district Llipa , in the northwest with the districts Ocros and Cajacay , in the north with the district Ticllos , in the northeast with the districts San Miguel de Corpanqui and Canis and in the southeast with the district Mangas (the last five mentioned Districts are all in the Province of Bolognesi ).
