The Caleta de Carquín district is located in the Huaura Province in the Lima region in western Peru . The district was established on September 30, 1941. It has an area of 3.41 km². The 2017 census counted 8,318 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 4945, in 2007 it was 6091. The district administration is located in the 14 m high coastal town of Caleta de Carquín with 8227 inhabitants (as of 2017). Caleta de Carquín is located 4 km north-northwest of the provincial capital Huacho .
Geographical location
The Caleta de Carquín district is located on the Pacific coast south of the mouth of the Río Huaura in the west of the Huaura province.
The Caleta de Carquín district borders on the Huaura district to the north and the Hualmay district to the east and south .
