Camel Up is a board game for two to eight players by Steffen Bogen . The game simulates a camel race . The players bet on the outcome of the race from the position of spectators. You do not play with a permanent camel of your own, but can bet on the respective lap winner and finally also on the "olle" and "great camel", the overall winner and overall last of the race and win money in the process. The course of the five camels is controlled by a pyramid with five game dice, which not only determines the number of points but also the order of the dice at random. By the fact that the camels are constantly piggybacking each other take, even the last camel can usually go out of the race as the winner until the end.

Due to the layout of the box, the name can be read both as “Camel Up” and as “Camel Cup”.

extension

In May 2015, Camel Up: Supercup was released, an expansion that offers four modules to the basic game. In 2016, Camel Up: Grand Prix of the Sahara came out, which consists of an alternative playing field in the form of a play mat, in which additional fields (whirlwind) are introduced.

Also in 2016, a card game version of the game was released under the name Camel Up Cards .

reception

"A fun, fast, short and surprising game with the simplest rules for gamers."

- Joachim Budde

“In our group, the decision of the jury" Game of the Year "could not be understood in any way. But what do we players know how the jury ticks. "

- Jörg Domberger
