Carl-Oscar Tore Kent Andersson (born April 2, 1992 in Varberg ) is a Swedish football player on the position of midfielder who has been under contract with the Icelandic second division club Knattspyrnufélag Fjarðabyggðar since August 2015 . He is the son of Swedish comedian and cabaret artist Annika Andersson and the current President of GAIS Göteborg , Tomas Andersson .

Career

Career start

The 1992 born son of comedian Annika Andersson and soccer official and entrepreneur Tomas Andersson began his career as a soccer player in the offspring of the deeply underclass Skrea IF from Falkenberg . Carl-Oscar Andersson, who has three siblings with Caroline two years older, Alexander three years younger and Wilfred, who is 16 years younger, was active there up to and including 2001 before he moved to the junior division at GAIS Göteborg , where his Father has been involved in economic affairs as a supporter for years. In the hometown of his father, who appears in everyday life as the managing director of Specialkarosser AB in Ätran , he passed through all youth classes until 2007. This year he returned to his beginnings and joined the largest football club in Falkenberg, the Falkenbergs Fotbollförening . With the youth of the club from the coastal town he was sometimes very successful and won the regional championship title in 2009 and was runner-up in the regional indoor championship of the same year. He was also voted the club's most promising talent in 2010, which has earned him numerous nominations in Swedish local and regional selections.

Professional debut and college soccer in the US

After it was used for the first time in the professional team of Falkenbergs FF in the 2011 season with play in the country's second-highest division and made his debut on June 12, 2011 in a 1-1 home draw against Hammarby IF , when he played for Mikael in the 81st minute Bomann came on the lawn, he announced his move overseas to the United States soon afterwards . When the Falkenbergs FF had completed the season with seventh place on a place in the mid-table and it had brought Andersson until the end of the season still another short stint, he joined the before the start of the new season Mercer Bears , the sports department of Mercer University from Macon , Georgia . While he had completed the Falkenbergs gymnasieskola in Falkenberg , he began further studies, although his main subject was not declared for the time being, at Mercer University and became the playmaker of the Bears with play in NCAA Division I in his freshman year . He was used in all 20 championship games of his team from the start, where he brought it on a hit and six assists. That year he was also elected to the all-freshman team of the A-Sun Conference and was also in their all-academic selection . In the following year 2012, the midfielder was used in 16 championship games, in which he contributed three goals and at the end of the season was even elected to the All-Atlantic Sun second team due to his performance .

Return to Sweden

After the 2012 school year he returned to his home country, where he was once again accepted by his parent club Falkenbergs FF. In the course of the 2013 season he was used in twelve league games, but always only brought short appearances. He also made two short appearances in the Swedish Cup of the 2012/13 season , where he was also used in a cup match in 2010/11 and 2011/12 . In his twelve league appearances, among other things, on May 26, 2013, he scored his first goal in a 4-2 home win over GAIS Göteborg and less than a month later in the 2-4 home defeat against Degerfors IF his first goal in the jersey of Falkenbergs FF . Although he barely came into the season on missions that lasted longer than ten minutes, in the end he was with the team one point ahead of the pursuing Örebro SK master of the Superettan. Both teams were automatically promoted to the Allsvenskan , the top division in Swedish football, while third-placed GIF Sundsvall had to fight for participation in the country's top football league in the promotion play-off.

In the season after promotion , Carl-Oscar Andersson, who, as in the previous season, was mainly used in the lower-class U-21 team, could not prevail again in the professional team. He seldom managed to work longer than 15 minutes; in the end it was enough for 13 premier league appearances, in which he scored two goals and prepared another for a teammate. His position also varied continuously throughout the year. While he mainly appeared in offensive positions on the reserve team and mostly played as a center forward or central midfielder, more rarely as a central defender, in the professional team he was used almost exclusively in the defensive area. By the end of the season, the team was only able to avert relegation and just missed participating in the relegation games. Also in the soccer cup 2013/14 it came to an abrupt end for Falkenbergs FF, when they were defeated by the third division AFC United in the second round with 1: 2; Andersson was active as a defensive midfielder over 71 minutes for his team. The 2014/15 Cup also ended soon after the team around Carl-Oscar Andersson, who played the full length of the match, also lost 2-1 to third division club FC Trollhättan . His numbers did not change under the new coach Henrik Larsson , who replaced Hans Eklund , who was only head coach for one year .

Another move to the United States

In the following year, Carl-Oscar Anderssons finally made an international change of club, where he signed a contract with the North American second division club New York Cosmos on April 29, 2015 , but immediately to the newly founded reserve team New York Cosmos B with play operations in the fourth highest soccer league in North America was awarded. The Swede, who is mainly used as a strike partner alongside Portuguese Miguel Herlein , made his debut for New York Cosmos B on June 13, 2015 in a 2-0 win over Seacoast United Phantoms . Subsequently, Andersson was used seven times in the B team and scored one goal; Due to the hopelessness of a place in the professional squad, the Swede left his US club in the summer of 2015 and moved back to Europe, where he hired the Icelandic second division Knattspyrnufélag Fjarðabyggðar in early August . Here he made his team debut on August 7 in a 2-2 home draw against Þór Akureyri , when he acted from the start and was replaced by Elvar Ingi Vignisson from the 87th minute of the game . After three consecutive league appearances over the full 90 minutes, he sat on the bench in his fifth game without being used and was then no longer in the squad of the Icelandic second division club.
