Cengizhan Hınçal (born March 4, 1974 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player and manager. Although he only played three competitive games in two years for Galatasaray Istanbul , he is associated with this club as a home grown man.
Career
societies
Hınçal was born in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul and began his club career here in the youth of the traditional club Galatasaray Istanbul . Through his work for this club, he was discovered early for the Turkish youth national teams and was one of the often nominated players from 1989. In the youth national teams and the youth department of Galatasarays, he formed a successful team with his future teammates Okan Buruk and Mustafa Kocabey , both of whom should also achieve professional careers.
In the summer of 1992 Galatasaray had just hired a new coach, Karl-Heinz Feldkamp , and wanted to carry out a revision in the squad with him. Feldkamp turned the team inside out, sorted out many seasoned professionals and replaced them with new players. In this context, Hınçal was taken to the preparatory camp for the winter break in 1992/93 and then retained in the professional squad. A few days after joining the professional squad, Hınçal was injured and had to undergo an operation in the USA . He still took part in professional training until the end of the season, but was unable to play competitive games due to an injury. In the summer of 1993 he finally received a professional contract with Galatasaray and was thus officially part of the professional team. At the end of the season, the team under Feldkamp immediately became champions of the Süper Lig , winners of the Turkish soccer cup and winners of the Turkish soccer supercup . Although Hınçal finished the season without use, he was part of the championship squad.
In the 1993/94 season, Reiner Hollmann , Galatasaray's assistant coach from the previous season, replaced Karl-Heinz Feldkamp as head coach. Under this coach Hınçal stayed in the team and made his professional debut on October 10, 1993 in the league game against Trabzonspor . In addition to this game, he completed another league game and a cup encounter. His team managed to defend the championship title. In the 1993/94 UEFA Champions League season, the big favorites Manchester United were thrown out of the competition in the second round and qualified as the first Turkish team in the newly designed UEFA Champions League .
In the summer of 1994, Galatasaray tried to commit striker Saffet Sancaklı from league rivals Kocaelispor . Finally, Galatasaray agreed with Kocaelispor for a transfer of 35 billion Turkish lira and the levy of the two Galatasaray players Mustafa Kocabey and Hınçal. Moved to Kocaelispor, Hınçal came to the end of the season to 23 league appearances, but he was given in the summer of 1995 to the league rivals Kayserispor . With this club he completed twelve games until the winter break and was then loaned to the second division Aydınspor for the second half of the season. At the end of the season he returned to Kayserispor. This club had in the meantime missed relegation in the first division and kept Hınçal in the squad for the upcoming second division season. Hınçal quickly established himself as a regular in his second season. His club reached the end of the season on the runner-up in the 2nd division direct promotion back to the 1st division. There Hınçal kept his regular place and completed 31 league games by the end of the season, in which he met five times. But since his club missed relegation again, this time Hınçal parted from Kayserispor.
At the end of the season Hınçal moved to the first division club MKE Ankaragücü . With this club he only stayed in the first half of the 1998/99 season and was loaned to the second division club Çaykur Rizespor for the second half of the season . For the 1999 summer transfer period he left Ankaragücü for good and moved to the second division Yimpaş Yozgatspor . With his new employer, where he met his former teammates Yusuf Tepekule , Cihat Arslan and Mustafa Kocabey from his Galatasaray days, Hınçal had a successful debut. So by the end of the season he had played 33 league games, provided Mustafa Kocabey with assists and thus helped him to the title of top scorer. His team reached the championship of the league and thus for the first time in the club's history the promotion to the highest Turkish league, which was renamed from 1st Lig to Süper Lig in the summer of 2000 . In the Süper Lig Hınçal contributed to the fact that his team became the surprise team of the 2000/01 first division season . Under the leadership of coach Hüseyin Kalpar , the club ended the season in 7th place in the table and provided several surprise victories, such as the win against Galatasaray. Hınçal contributed six goals and several assists to this success. Yozgatspor started the new season with a change of coach. Even under the new coach Bahri Kaya Hınçal kept his regular place and completed most of the league games.
Since Yozgatspor had missed relegation in the Süper Lig in the summer of 2002 , Hınçal left the club and hired the first division club Diyarbakırspor . The decisive factor for the change was that his old coach Hüseyin Kalpar now coached Diyarbakırspor. At this club he quickly rose to become a regular player and stayed that way until the match on April 6, 2003 against his old club Galatasaray Istanbul . In this encounter he suffered an injury, had to be replaced and was out until the winter break of 2003/04. Hınçal first negotiated with Bursaspor for the second half of the season . After the change there did not materialize, he moved to the second half of the season to Kayseri Erciyesspor . With this club he played almost all league games in the second half of the season without being able to fight for a regular place. His team finished the league as runner-up in the 2nd division and rose to the Süper Lig. In the training camp for the upcoming season, Hınçal injured himself again during a friendly against Konyaspor , causing his old ailment to recur. After this development he ended his playing career in the summer of 2004.
National team
Hınçal played several times for the Turkish U-16, U-18 and U-21 national teams .
