Charlotte Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte County in the US state of Florida with a population of 2325 (as of 2010).

Charlotte Park is located directly south of downtown Punta Gorda and is affected by the Tamiami Trail ( US 41 ). The CDP is about 150 km south of Tampa .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 2325 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 1730 households. The population density was 750 inhabitants / km². 96.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.2% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 0.7% as Asian Americans . 0.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.9% to several ethnic groups. 4.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 63.7% of all households lived in 10.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 67.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.98 people and the average family size was 2.32 people.

9.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 9.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 19.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 61.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 65 years. 49.4% of the population were male and 50.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 32,031, with 5.5% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 94.80% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 5.20%.
