Harbor Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte County in the US state of Florida with 2987 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Harbor Heights is on the north bank of the Peace River and around 9 km north of Punta Gorda . Tampa is about 150 km north of the CDP, which Interstate 75 passes by.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 2987 inhabitants were distributed over 1598 households. The population density was 524 inh. / Km². 90.1% of the population identified themselves as whites, 5.8% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 1.1% as Asian Americans . 1.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.6% to several ethnic groups. 5.2% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 45.8% of all households lived in 21.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 69.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.27 people and the average family size was 2.64 people.

18.3% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 15.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 27.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 38.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 52 years. 47.8% of the population were male and 52.2% were female.

The median annual income was $ 45,574, with 8.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 97.04% of the population, 1.85% spoke Spanish and 1.11% spoke German .
