The Hutholz district is in the south of Chemnitz . The districts of Morgenleite and Markersdorf border on Hutholz . Originally Hutholz and Morgenleite belonged to the Markersdorfer Flur, so Markersdorf extended beyond Stollberger Straße to the district of Stelzendorf and the community of Neukirchen .

history

The "Hudtsholz" on the "Hudtsberge" used to be part of the Neukirchen rulership.

Restructuring of the city districts

In 1992/93, the city of Chemnitz decided to reorganize the districts, so the Morgenleite districts (named after the "Morgenleite" settlement on Stollberger Strasse ) and Hutholz (after the adjacent wooded area in the 1920s ) were created in the western part of Markersdorf in the community of Neukirchen). While Morgenleite includes building areas V and VI of the former " Fritz-Heckert area " and the western part of the old village center of Markersdorf, Hutholz is the entire building area VIII .

Hutholz has a special connection with the neighboring community of Neukirchen, because in 1981 an area on the Neukirchner Höhe was compulsorily incorporated into a new building for the construction of the new panels. Efforts on the part of Neukirchen to get this area back failed in 1994. Hutholz, together with Markersdorf, is particularly affected by the decline in population that began in the mid-1990s, which is why many houses around 20 years old were mostly demolished or renovated.

traffic

Two tram lines lead from Hutholz via Morgenleite to the city center. Line 4 via Stollberger Straße and line 5 via Annaberger Straße . In addition, several CVAG city bus routes and some regional bus routes operate via Hutholz . Stollberger Straße separates Hutholz and Morgenleite from Stelzendorf.
