history

In a document from 1538 the place was called Waitmannsdorf . In 1583 the name was changed to Stolzenau after the then owner Mathes von Stolz. It was parish of the church in Reichenau and belonged to the Glatzer Land , with which it shared the history of its political and ecclesiastical affiliation from the beginning. Because it belonged to the Oberwallisfurth rulership , the owners and ownership of Stolzenau were identical to those there.

After the First Silesian War in 1742 and finally after the Peace of Hubertusburg in 1763, Stolzenau and the County of Glatz came to Prussia in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg . For the year 1796 there is evidence: a water mill, eight farmers and 48 gardeners and cottagers .

After the reorganization of Prussia, Stolzenau belonged to the province of Silesia since 1815 and was incorporated into the district of Glatz from 1816–1945 . It formed its own rural community and belonged to the Wallisfurth district . Due to its location in the foothills of the Heuscheuergebirge, the place developed into a popular destination from the beginning of the 20th century. In 1939 there were 765 inhabitants. As a result of the Second World War , like all of Silesia, it fell to Poland in 1945 and was renamed Chocieszów . The German population was expelled . Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . The number of inhabitants decreased significantly and was about 280 in the 1980s. 1975-1998 Chocieszów belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship .

Kaltenbrunn / Studzienna

Kaltenbrunn was first mentioned in writing in 1571 and belonged to the Albendorf parish. It consisted of a few houses and three parts that belonged to the dominions Albendorf , Oberwallisfurth and Pischkowitz . Together with the no longer existing place Rolling it belonged to the rural community of Stolzenau. In 1939 there were 225 inhabitants. In 1945 it was renamed Studzienna . In the 1980s the population was 26.
