Wolany (German Wallisfurth ; until 1735: Wernersdorf ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in the Voivodeship of Lower Silesia . It is located ten kilometers west of Kłodzko and belongs to the urban and rural municipality of Szczytna .

geography

Wolany lies at the eastern foot of the Heuscheuergebirge . Neighboring towns are Suszyna in the north, Ruszowice , Tworów ( Ludwigsdörfel ) and Kamieniec in the northeast, Roszyce and Szalejów Górny in the east, Polanica-Zdrój in the south, Polanica Górna in the southwest and Chocieszów , Kopanka ( Agnesfeld ) and Niwa in the northwest.

history

The later Wallisfurth was first mentioned in 1350 as "Wernersdorf". At the instigation of Emperor Charles VI. It was renamed on June 17, 1735 after the then owner of the Wernersdorf estate, the imperial count and imperial general Georg Olivier von Wallis, in "Wallisfurth". Wernersdorf / Wallisfurth was parish in Oberschwedeldorf and belonged to the Glatzer Land , with which it shared the history of its political and ecclesiastical affiliation from the beginning. It initially consisted of several parts, which mostly belonged to different owners. From 1709 Georg Olivier von Wallis acquired all the shares, so that from 1723 he owned the entire Wernersdorf / Wallisfurth estate. After the death of his first wife Maria Antonia von Götzen , he married Maria Theresia von Kinsky . After his death in 1744, she became the guardian of their son Stephan Olivier von Wallis.

After the First Silesian War in 1742 and finally with the Peace of Hubertusburg in 1763, Wallisfurth and the County of Glatz fell to Prussia . When Stephan Olivier von Wallis came of age in 1770, he took possession of his father's property. On May 20, 1783 he sold the Wallisfurth rule and his other possessions in the County of Glatz to Ludwig Friedrich Wilhelm von Schlabrendorf on Hassitz and Stolz . A year later, he sold the Wallisfurth estate to Wilhelm Alexander von Schoenaich-Carolath , who founded the Agnesfeld colony and built an iron hammer on the Weistritz . In 1798 he sold the Wallisfurth rule to the royal Prussian general Ludwig Duke of Württemberg .

After the reorganization of Prussia, Wallisfurth belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was incorporated into the district of Glatz from 1816 to 1945 . As a result of the Second World War , like almost all of Silesia, it fell to Poland in 1945 and was renamed Wolany . The German population was largely expelled in 1946 . Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland , which had fallen to the Soviet Union . 1975-1998 Wolany belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship .

Share Niederwernersdorf / Niederwallisfurth

In 1797, in addition to the castle, this share included two further manors ( castle courtyard and Werderhof ), a chapel, twelve farmers, six gardeners and 61 cottagers as well as a flour and cutting mill , a brewery, a brickworks, a bleaching facility , an iron hammer and a few tar ovens .

  • The castle courtyard originally consisted of the three outworks Tschirnhaus , Alter Hof and Pannwitz Gut .
    • In 1559 the Tschirnhaus-Vorwerk belonged to Ernst von Walditz, from whom it passed to his sons Georg, Hans and Christoph. In 1603 it was probably owned by the eponymous Tschirnhaus, whose first name is not known. In 1615 it was owned by Johann Georg von Schaffgotsch , whose widow sold it to Hans Friedrich von Deichsel in 1619. In 1639, Christoph von Donig acquired the Tschirnhaus-Vorwerk , who already owned the Alte Hof. His son of the same name sold it to Johann von Werder in Wernersdorf in 1654. His grandson Johann Christoph sold this estate to Anna Theresia von Ortner, née Drescher von Kadan, who already owned the neighboring Pannwitz estate. Georg Olivier Graf von Wallis, heir to Kunzendorf and Heinzendorf , acquired both goods in 1709 . A year later he bought the old courtyard from the Eck's heirs and combined these three goods into the so-called castle courtyard .
    • In 1396 Hans von Glaubitz owned the Alter Hof farm . Konrad von Walditz bought it in 1397, and it remained with his descendants or relatives for 240 years. The last owner of the von Walditz family from 1623 was Christoph, who already owned the Werder-Hof and the Pannwitz-Gut. In 1628 these goods were bought by the Bohemian King Ferdinand III. converted from a fief to an allod . After Christoph's death in 1636 Christoph von Donig and Zdanitz ( Ždánice ) acquired the old farm and three years later also the Tschirnhaus-Vorwerk. After his death around 1644 the property passed to his son of the same name. He sold it in 1654 to Johann von Werder, who already owned the Werder farm and the Pannwitz estate. In 1700 he sold the Alten Hof and the Pannwitz estate to his mother-in-law Anna Juliana von Eck. After her death in 1710, her children sold the old farm to Georg Olivier von Wallis.
    • The Pannwitz estate was owned by Sigmund von Zedlitz in 1602 . In 1613 it was owned by Friedrich von Redern , who was married to Helena von Donig ( Dohna ) from Niedersteine . In 1615 he sold this property to Christoph von Walditz, the heir to the Werder farm. After his death, Joachim vom Pannwitz bought the indebted estate at auction and sold it to Johann von Werder in 1645. His grandson Johann Christoph von Werder sold it in 1700 to Anna Theresia von Ortner, who already owned the Tschirnhaus-Vorwerk.
  • The Werder-Hof was originally a Freirichtergut , which was initially called the Steinhof . In 1325, the Bohemian King John of Luxembourg gave this free judge property to the brothers Konrad, Bolko and Otto von Glaubitz ( Glubos ). Emperor Charles IV exempted this property from all taxes by means of a document issued on September 13, 1350 in Königgrätz . In 1417 this property was owned by Nickel Bach. It sold it in 1424 to Nickel von Walditz, who already owned the Alte Hof. In 1543 Hans Walditz sold the entire estate to Captain Hans Prag von Wellnitz, who already owned the Oberwernersdorf (later Oberwallisfurt ) share . The purchase contract was approved in 1544 by the then pledge holder of the County of Glatz, Johann von Pernstein . Hans Prag von Wellnitz sold this share in 1548 to Anna von Seydlitz, a married asset from Schüttlau. Her son Georg Abschatz von Schüttlau sold this property to his brother-in-law Mathes Stolz in 1564, from whom his brother Hans Stolz von Simbsdorf bought it in 1586, who in the same year sold it to Ernst von Walditz. This was followed in 1596 by his brother Sigmund von Walditz. In 1636 the guardians of the children of the late Christoph von Walditz sold the Steinhof to Hans Werder von Schlenz, who was married to a daughter of Christoph and who in 1645 also acquired the Pannwitz estate. His son Johann Christoph von Werder inherited the estate in 1665. In 1723 his grandson Johann Ferdinand von Werder sold the Steinhof, which was now referred to as Werder-Hof, to Georg Olivier von Wallis.

Share of Oberwernersdorf / Oberwallisfurth

This portion was originally called Oberwernersdorf and was later also referred to as the Zettritz or the Czettritz . The estate was probably first owned by the von Glaubitz ( Glubos ) family and in 1408 belonged to Hertil von Rankau. He sold the estate in 1408 to the Augustiner Propstei in Glatz , which in 1543 sold it to Captain Hans Prag von Wellnitz, who a year later also acquired the Werder Hof. After frequent changes of ownership, Friedrich von Czettritz became the heir of Oberwernersdorf. Because of his participation in the Bohemian class uprising , his estate was confiscated in 1625. Since he is again proven to be the owner in 1631, it can be assumed that the property was returned to him. In 1637 this property belonged to Lieutenant Mühlanger von Mühlau, who also owned a share of Albendorf . After several short-term changes of ownership, it was acquired by Heinrich Hofer von Hoferburg in 1666, who owned the Vettrischer Hof in Niedersteine and the Freirichtergut in Reichenau . In 1674 he sold Oberwernersdorf to Christoph Ernst von Donig, who already owned the Güsnerhof in Oberschwedeldorf. Heinrich Wilhelm von Donig, with whose death the Donig / Dohna von Zdanitz line became extinct in 1728, sold the Oberwernersdorf estate to Georg Olivier von Wallis in 1720.

Agnesfeld / Kopanka colony

The then owner of the Wallisfurth lordship, Field Marshal Georg Olivier von Wallis, laid out a farm on a cleared forest site, which was called "carpentry". In 1795 Reichsgraf Schoenaich-Carolath abolished the Vorwerk and built a colony on the property belonging to it, which was named after his daughter Agnes "Agnesfeld", who was born in the same year. In 1807 Agnesfeld consisted of 12 houses and a Kretscham . It formed its own rural community and belonged to the Wallisfurth district . In 1945 it was renamed Kopanka .

Attractions

  • The castle built by Georg Olivier von Wallis was expanded by Duke Ludwig von Württemberg. It consisted of a large hall and 63 rooms. After it burned down in 1827, it was rebuilt in the same place in 1855 by the new owner Freiherr von Falkenhausen. After the Second World War it was left to decay. The castle entrance with two obelisks has been preserved.
