Christian Jaksjø (born December 18, 1973 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian jazz musician ( trombone , bass trumpet , euphonium ) and composer .

Live and act

Christian Jaksjø studied improvisation and composition at the Trondheim Music Conservatory from 1992–96 and then composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music (1996–99) in Oslo. In 1999 he played in Bob Brookmeyer's New Art Orchestra ( New Works ). From 2000 to 2003 he continued his studies at Dartmouth College , New Hampshire , where he worked on computer-aided composition and electro-acoustic music .

He has been a member of the hr big band since 2003 . For the ensemble repertoire he wrote a. a. the compositions Inner Voices , a chamber play for 17 soloists, and They Will Be Buried by Laughter (Change Ringing) , which was performed at the 2011 Biennale for Modern Music . He also worked with Magni Wentzel , in Geir Lysne's Listening Ensemble (with whom he performed at Jazzfest Berlin in 2001 ) and in the jazz rock band Oslo Groove Company , with Richie Beirach / Dave Liebman and in the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.
