Christine Strobl (born Schäuble ; born August 5, 1971 ) is a German lawyer and media manager .

Life

Strobl was born in 1971 as the eldest child of the politician Wolfgang Schäuble ( CDU ) and his wife, the economist Ingeborg (née Hensle ), and has three younger siblings. She has been married to the CDU politician Thomas Strobl since 1996 . Christine Strobl is also a longstanding CDU member; At the end of the 1980s she joined the Junge Union (JU).

SWR

After the successful completion of study of jurisprudence Strobl 1999 came as a qualified lawyer for Southwest Broadcasting (SWR), where she started a trainee program went through. Strobl was the successor to Bettina Reitz , who after a short interim period at Degeto became TV boss at Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR). The long-standing Degeto managing director Hans-Wolfgang Jurgan was released from his duties with immediate effect in November 2011 and was retired after having significantly exceeded the budget in the previous years, planning the production budget until 2014 and thus blocking new film productions and had created liquidity problems. An examination by the auditing company KPMG and the revision of the WDR had shown "serious organizational deficiencies" at Degeto. With an annual budget of 400 million euros - including around 250 million for in- house productions - and around 80 employees, the company is of great importance to the German film industry . Strobl tackled major structural changes in the company's work processes and corporate transparency as well as the networking with the state broadcasters , which she was able to complete by the beginning of 2015.
