Christoph Gawlik (born August 10, 1987 in Deggendorf ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the EHF Passau Black Hawks in the Bavarian ice hockey league since January 2020 .
Career
Christoph Gawlik comes from the junior division of the Deggendorf EC . In the summer of 2002 he switched to the Adler Mannheim juniors . For the young eagles Mannheim he ran in the 2002/03 season in the German junior league . In the following season, the winger also belonged to the DNL squad of Mannheim, but also received first appearances in their DEL team. In 2004 the left shooter moved to the Eisbären Berlin , where he was used in the first season in the DEL and in the junior teams in the DNL and Oberliga. Although Gawlik is a member of the Eisbären championship team in 2005 , he only played in the DNL in the play-offs . In the 2005/06 season , the attacker was almost entirely on the ice in the DEL and was also used in the finals, where he was able to win the championship with the Berliners for the second time.
After winning his third championship with the Eisbären in 2008 , but again only as a reserve player, Christoph Gawlik signed a contract with league rivals Frankfurt Lions for the 2008/09 season .
From 2010 to 2015 Gawlik played at ERC Ingolstadt and won the German championship title with the Panthers in 2014 , scoring the decisive 1-0 in the decisive game in the 2-0 win against the Kölner Haie . After becoming runner-up with the ERC Ingolstadt in the 2014/15 season , he moved to Düsseldorfer EG .
In the first test match for his new club, he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and was then unable to play a game in the 2015/16 season . In the coming season he was injured again after 3 games (torn muscle fiber), whereupon the responsible persons at DEG could not guarantee him any further playing time during the season and the contract that was still ongoing was terminated by mutual agreement in January 2017. The striker was then signed by the Löwen Frankfurt from the DEL2 for the rest of the 2016/17 season . For the predecessor club of the Lions, the Frankfurt Lions , Gawlik had already played in the DEL from 2008 until their bankruptcy in 2010 and in the 2009/2010 season he was the club's third-best scorer with 48 points in 51 games. In Frankfurt he made 32 stakes in the remainder of the 2017 season and was able to contribute to the Hessian club's championship win with 10 goals and 18 assists and was again successful in the decisive game against the Bietigheim Steelers .
Despite his many injuries, the 30-year-old tried again to get involved in the DEL for the 2017/18 season and, after testing in preparation for the Straubing Tigers , was signed by the Krefeld Penguins shortly before the start of the season . In 2018 he joined Deggendorfer SC .
International
At the U18 Junior World Championship in 2004 Gawlik was in the squad of a DEB selection for the first time and also played the Junior World Championship in 2006 , where he was one of the best players in the tournament. For the senior national team , the striker took part in the Division I World Cup in 2006 , where he made promotion with the team.
