Christoph Moritz von Roëll (born March 10, 1713 in Carthausen ; † April 27, 1797 in Groß Reichen in the Lüben district ) was a Prussian major general and chief of the hussar regiment No. 1 .

His parents were the Münsterland cornet Christoph Wilhelm von Roëll and his wife Katharina Elisabeth, née Wever (born April 4, 1674), widow of Johann Wippermann von Karthausen. His father was the heir to Dölberg in the county of Mark . The Lieutenant General Friedrich Alexander von Roëll was his uncle., The Dutch theologian Hermann Alexander Roëll (1653-1718) was a great-uncle.

Military career

Roëll went into Prussian service on January 23, 1727 and joined the cuirassier regiment "Gustav von Anhalt-Dessau" . On October 17, 1739 he came as a cornet in the hussar regiment "von Bronikowski" , became second lieutenant on May 7, 1741 and on December 28, 1743 staff assistant master . During the Second Silesian War he fought in the Battle of Hohenfriedberg . On September 10, 1746, Roëll became captain and squadron chief . Roëll was married to Baron Ernestine Henriette von Hock (* 1729 - June 11, 1809) since 1764. The couple had several children including:
