Christoph Pliet (* 1962 in Tettnang ) is Brigadier General of the Bundeswehr and Deputy Commander Deployable Air Command and Control Center, Poggio Renatico / Italy .

Military career

Training and first uses

Promotions

In 1980, after graduating from high school, Pliet joined the German Army as an officer candidate in the Air Force. After his officer training and pilot training at the Luftwaffe officer's school in Fürstenfeldbruck , he was trained as a weapons systems officer on the Tornado fighter-bomber . This was followed by various uses u. a. as a weapons system officer, training officer and task force officer with the fighter-bomber squadron 31 “Boelcke” in Nörvenich .

Service as a staff officer

From 1994 to 1996 Pliet took part in the 39th general staff course at the command and control academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . His first employment as a general staff officer led him to ICAOC 4 in Meßstetten . There he became head of the training and exercises department . From 1998 to 2001 Pliet was commander of the flying group of Reconnaissance Wing 51 "Immelmann" in Jagel . This was followed by two assignments as a speaker at Fü L III 3 (basic matters of deployment and operational management, operational command of the air force, operational principles, command support, exercises) in the command staff of the air force and Fü SV 3 (operational command of the Bundeswehr) in the command staff of the armed forces . From 2003 to 2005, Pliet was an adjutant to the Deputy Inspector General of the Bundeswehr . From 2005 to 2006 Pliet took part in the Senior Course of the NATO Defense College in Rome and was subsequently commodore of Fighter Bomber Wing 33 in Büchel . In 2008, Pliet became operational group leader in the Balkans at the Bundeswehr Operations Command (EinsFüKdoBw) in Geltow , and in 2010 he was Head of Operational Operations Management (J3) at the Operational Leadership Command (KdoOpFüEingrKr) in Ulm . At the headquarters of the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation in Norfolk ( USA ), he was Head of Concept Development from 2012 to 2016 . This was followed by a ministerial assignment from 2016 to 2018 as Head of Unit Plg II 3 Skills development in the domain of leadership and education; Strategic control of space in the planning department in the Federal Ministry of Defense with headquarters in Bonn .

In January 2019, Pliet became Deputy Commander Deployable Air Command and Control Center, Poggio Renatico / Italy .
