City of God is the third solo album by the German rapper Godsilla . It was released on October 26, 2007 on the independent label I Luv Money Records .
Emergence
After Godsilla his second album in 2006 mass hysteria had published initially followed in March 2007 re-release of his debut album Übertalentiert as a Premium Edition . The Berliner then recorded a joint album with King Orgasmus One , who owns the label I Luv Money Records . This was published under the title Dirty Euros 2 . Godsilla then recorded songs for his third solo album.
Meaning of the title
The title of the album is the Brazilian film City of God ( City of God ajar). This was created in 2002 and deals with the violence in the slums of Rio de Janeiro . Godsilla transfers this motif to his hometown Berlin on the sound carrier . At the same time, the title is also a play on words, as the abbreviation of the name Godsilla is also "God", so that Berlin is the "City of God", ie the city of Godsilla.
Musical style
City of God contains several songs that the stylistic direction of the battle rap are attributable. Fictitious opponents are insulted as artistically as possible.
