Career

society

Emslie began her career in the Scottish Women's Premier League with the Hibernian Ladies in Edinburgh. In her first season she was in the starting line-up 14 times in 16 games and scored three goals. The Hibs finished the season in third place and won the League Cup. In 2012 she scored eight goals in ten games and finished the season in fourth. In 2013, she was used in nine of the eleven games of the first round of the championship and scored seven goals. She also studied at Florida Atlantic University between 2012 and 2016 and played for the Owls .

In June 2016, she then moved to England for the second division club Bristol City . With ten goals in twelve games, she contributed to the fact that Bristol rose as second in the table in the first division. In the "Spring Series" called short transition season 2017 of the FA Women's Super League, she played all eight games and scored one goal. Bristol finished the season penultimate. She then moved to second season Manchester City WFC . In her first season at ManCity , she was not used in only one league game and scored four goals. With the English, she also took part in the 2017/18 UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time , where they made it to the semi-finals and were only eliminated with one goal against Olympique Lyon . In the 5-0 victory in the round of 16 at Lillestrøm SK Kvinner , she was able to score her first CL goal. As runners-up, ManCity was also able to take part in the 2018/19 UEFA Women's Champions League , but was eliminated in the round of 32 against Spanish champions Atlético Madrid , where they only played 18 minutes in the first leg in Madrid, where they scored 1-1.

In the 2018/19 season, she scored four goals in 14 games and was runner-up again. With ManCity she also reached the finals for the cup and the league cup, both of which were won. In the goalless league cup final she was substituted on in the 119th minute and was then one of the successful shooters in the penalty shoot-out .

In July 2018, she and the team took part in the Women's International Champions Cup , which was played for the first time , where Olympique Lyon was the opponent in the semi-finals. This game was lost with 0: 3. The game for 3rd place could then be won 2-1 against Paris Saint-Germain .

On May 30, 2019, she received a contract with Orlando Pride for the 2019 National Women's Soccer League . Emslie did not move to the USA until after the 2019 World Cup, but was only able to occupy the last place in the table after the league round with Orlando. After the end of the season in the USA, the Australian summer went to Melbourne City FC .

National team

Emslie first played a game with the Scottish U-15 team in 2008 and 2009. With the U-17 team she took part in the first qualifying round for the U-17 European Women's Football Championship 2010 at a tournament in Lithuania in October 2009 . She was used in the three games and scored the first and third goals in the 13-0 win against Lithuania. Since the other two games were lost against Austria and the Czech Republic, the Scottish women were eliminated. In April 2011, she took part in the second qualifying round for the 2011 U-17 European Women's Football Championship . At the tournament in Switzerland , after a 1: 4 against France and a 1: 1 against Wales, they no longer had a chance to reach the finals. In the game against the hosts, which was won 3-0, she was not used.

Already in May 2010 she took part with the U-19 team in the finals of the U-19 European Women's Football Championship 2010 , where the Scottish women were eliminated as the bottom of the group with one draw and two defeats. In September 2011, she took part in the first qualifying round for the 2012 U-19 European Women's Football Championship . At a tournament in Finland they were able to qualify for the second round together with the hosts. This took place in Russia at the end of March / beginning of April . Here they were able to defeat the hosts 1-0 in the first game, but then lost to Italy (2-4) and Spain (2-3), which meant they were eliminated as third in the group. In October, the team was able to qualify without them at a tournament in Turkey as second for the second round. In the second round in April 2013 she was there again. The Scottish women had home rights, but could not use this in the first game against Denmark and lost with 0: 1. Since the Danes also won the other two games, the victories against Austria and Ukraine, where they scored a goal, were of no use to the Scottish women. They were only second-best runner-up in the group and only the best runner-up was qualified for the finals alongside the group winners. This ended her time in the U-teams.

On June 1, 2013 she played for the Scottish national football team for the first time . In the 3-2 win against Iceland she was substituted on in the 62nd minute. But she had to wait until January 2017 for her second game. In the 2-2 draw against Denmark on January 20, 2017, she came on in the 78th minute. She was not taken into account for the subsequent Cyprus Cup and the 2017 European Championship , for which the Scottish women had qualified for the first time. In the first game under the new national coach Shelley Kerr on September 14, 2017 against Hungary , she was in the starting line-up for the first time and scored the interim 2-0 with her first international goal, final score 3-0.

In qualifying for the 2019 World Cup , she was not used once and was able to score two goals. The Scottish women qualified for the first time for the World Cup, where they will meet England in the first game, as in the European Championship.

On May 15, 2019 she was nominated for the World Cup . In the 1: 2 defeat against England in the first group game, she scored the first World Cup goal for the Schottinnnen. She was also used in the other two group games, but retired with her team after a goal conceded in the fourth minute of stoppage time to equalize 3: 3 after a 3-0 lead against Argentina .

She scored two goals in the first two games of qualifying for the 2021 European Championship .
