Claudia Kristofics-Binder (born October 5, 1961 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian figure skater who started in a single run . She is the European champion from 1982 .

Kristofics-Binder made her international debut in 1976. When she finished third at the national championships , she made her debut at European championships , world championships and the Olympic Games . From 1977 to 1982 she was Austrian champion . In 1980 she played her second Olympic Games in Lake Placid and finished seventh. She finished fifth at the World Cup . Her breakthrough came a year later. She won the bronze medal both at the 1981 European Championships in Innsbruck, Austria, and at the World Championships in Hartford . Both times she was the best in the compulsory figures. In 1982 Kristofics-Binder finally became European Champion in Lyon and again won bronze at the World Championships in Copenhagen .

In 1981 and 1982 Claudia Kristofics-Binder was named Austrian Sportswoman of the Year. After the 1982 World Cup, she ended her amateur career and turned professional , including at Holiday on Ice . Kristofics-Binder studied sports science and was then a lecturer at the University of Vienna at the Institute for Sports Science. Your degree is Magister . She is a certified trainer and choreographer. She also works in the ORF's sports department and as a manager. She is the mother of 3 children (2 sons and a daughter). Her daughter Delphine Kristofics-Binder is also an active figure skater (winner of the international “Mozart Cup” for juniors in 2007).
