geography
The Communauté de communes Amancey-Loue-Lison was named after the former canton of Amancey and the two rivers Loue and Lison . The main part of the area was taken up by the wide area of the plateau of Amancey, which is on average 600 m above sea level and is slightly inclined to the north. The northern section of the plateau is subdivided by a series of deeply carved erosion valleys of the tributaries of the Loue. This formed the northern boundary in parts. In the west, the Lison was the dominant natural element in its partly gorge-like valley, which is also deeply sunk into the surroundings. Towards the south, the 20 km long ridge of the Malveau (up to 930 m) formed the natural dividing line from the Levier plateau. While the ridge and the steep valley slopes are predominantly forested, the plateau is used for agriculture (in particular dairy farming and cattle breeding, in lower elevations also arable farming). The territory of the community association almost coincided with that of the canton of Amancey, but Gevresin, which belongs to the canton of Amancey, is part of the neighboring Communauté de communes Altitude 800 . On the other hand, Longeville ( Canton Ornans ) belonged as an exclave to the Communauté de communes Amancey-Loue-Lison.
tasks
The tasks of the community association included the creation of jobs, economic development, garbage disposal, drinking water treatment and wastewater purification, the construction and maintenance of cultural and sporting facilities, the development and promotion of tourism, the public service and the school system at primary school level.
