The Communauté de communes Rhône Crussol is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Ardèche department , whose administrative headquarters are in the town of Guilherand-Granges . It is located on the banks of the Rhone just across from Valence . Its name refers to the medieval manor house Crussol , to which the lands of today's member communities belonged. The community association consists of 13 communities and has 33,454 inhabitants (as of 2015) on an area of ​​200.0 km ² . Mathieu Darnaud is the president of the community association.

history

Today's municipal association was created on January 1, 2014 from the gradual merger of several predecessor associations. These were

• the Communauté de communes des Deux Chênes , founded in 1993, consisting of two municipalities,
• the Communauté de communes du Pays de Crussol , founded in 2002, consisting of five municipalities,
• an association founded in 2005 with the same name ( Rhône-Crussol ), to which only five and later six municipalities belonged and which already merged with the Communauté de communes du Pays de Crussol in 2011 .

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association determines the housing policy. In environmental matters, he operates the water supply, sewage disposal, garbage collection and disposal and is responsible for pollution control. He also runs the road maintenance department and school buses. In addition, the association builds and maintains cultural and sports facilities and promotes events in these areas.
