The Communauté de communes Pays des Vans en Cévennes is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Ardèche department , whose administrative headquarters are in the town of Les Vans . It is located on the south-western edge of the department in the Cevennes with elevations up to 1150  m and is largely part of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park . The association consists of 15 municipalities and has 9113 inhabitants (as of 2015) on an area of ​​329.3 km ² . Jean-Paul Manifacier is the president of the community association.

history

At the turn of the year 2013/2014, the following municipal associations merged to form the Communauté de communes Chassezac et Claysse :

• Communauté de communes Pays de Vans , merger of five municipalities around Les Vans from 2003;
• Communauté de communes Pays de Jalès , an association of four municipalities founded in 1995 with headquarters in Berrias-et-Casteljau ;
• with the exception of Sablières, the other three municipalities of the Communauté de communes Cévennes Vivarois , founded in 2002 ;

and the municipalities of Beaulieu and Saint-André-de-Cruzières .

The competencies required include developing and promoting economic activities. The community association operates the sewage disposal (partially) as well as the garbage collection and disposal.
