The Communauté de communes des Gorges de l'Ardèche is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Ardèche department , whose administrative seat is in Vallon-Pont-d'Arc . It is located in the south of the department and includes the Gorges de l'Ardèche , a gorge on the lower reaches of the Ardèche . The community association consists of 20 communities on an area of ​​413.0 km ² . The president of the community association is Max Thibon.

history

Today's community association was created at the turn of the year 2013/2014 from the merger of two predecessor associations founded in 2005. These goods:

• the Communauté de communes des Gorges de l'Ardèche, Terre des Hommes, de la Pierre et de l'Eau with Vallon-Pont-d'Arc and 14 other communities from its western region,
• the Communauté de communes Grands Sites des Gorges de l'Ardèche with four municipalities, one of which ( Issirac ) joined another association.

In addition, the municipality of Saint-Remèze joined by changing from the Communauté de communes du Rhône aux Gorges de l'Ardèche .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the municipality of Lanas joined the association, which was previously organized in the dissolved Communauté de communes du Vinobre .

tasks

Mandatory competencies include developing and promoting economic activities and tourism, and various spatial planning matters. The community association operates the road maintenance department, the sewage disposal (partially), and the garbage disposal.
