The Communauté de communes Saône Beaujolais (before 2017) is a former French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Département Rhône , the administrative headquarters of which was in Belleville . It lay on the northeastern edge of the department and stretched from the right bank of the Saône westward into northern Beaujolais . The community association consisted of 29 communities on an area of 347.6 km 2 .
tasks
The competencies required included the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning based on a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association determined the housing policy and operated the sewage disposal (partially), the garbage collection and disposal as well as the road maintenance. The association also built and maintained sports facilities and sponsored events in the field of culture.
Historical development
The Communauté de communes Saône Beaujolais was created on January 1, 2014 from the merger of the two predecessor associations
- Communautés de communes de la région de Beaujeu of 17 municipalities, founded in late 1994 and
- Communautés de communes Beaujolais Val de Saône made up of 11 municipalities, founded in 1995.
In addition, the community of Cenves became a member of the newly founded association.
With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes du Haut Beaujolais and, with the involvement of the commune of Saint-Georges-de-Reneins, formed the successor organization of the same name, Communauté de communes Saône-Beaujolais . Despite the same name, it is a start-up with a different legal personality.
