Cornillon-Confoux is a French commune with 1,373 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .
geography
The municipality is located 35 kilometers west of Aix-en-Provence and twelve kilometers south of Salon-de-Provence . Neighboring towns are Saint-Chamas , Lançon-Provence and Miramas .
history
Since the Neolithic Age, the area has been populated by different peoples and tribes.
In the Middle Ages the land became the property of the Counts of Provence and was then annexed to the Archdiocese of Arles . The monks of Montmajour Abbey built churches and drained the swamps.
