Crook County is a county in the US state of Wyoming . At the 2010 census , Crook County had 7,083 residents. The county seat is Sundance .

The county was founded in 1875.

Crook County covers an area of 7,435 square kilometers, of which 31 square kilometers are water, and the Devils Tower National Monument is also located here . The 901 kilometer long Little Missouri River has its origin here. The county borders the counties in a clockwise direction: Carter County, Montana, Lawrence County, South Dakota, Butte County, South Dakota, Weston County , Campbell County, and Powder River County (Montana).

According to the 2000 census , Crook County's population was 5,887. There were 2308 households and 1645 families. The population density was 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 97.86% White, 0.05% African American, 1.02% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 0.25% other races Groups; 0.75% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 0.92% percent of the population.
