The Hot Springs County is a county in the state of Wyoming of the United States . At the 2010 census , Hot Springs County had 4,812 residents. The county seat is Thermopolis .

The county covers an area of 5,196 square kilometers, of which 6 square kilometers are water. Hot Springs Count is bordered by Washakie County to the northeast , Fremont County to the south, and Park County to the northwest .

Hot Springs County had a population of 4,882 people as of the 2000 census . There were 2108 households and 1,353 families. The population density was 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.96% White, 0.35% African American, 1.52% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 0.63% other races Groups; 1.29% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 2.38% percent of the population.
Of the 2,108 households, 25.50% had children and adolescents under the age of 18 living with them. 54.30% were married couples living together, 7.40% percent were single mothers, 35.80% were non-families. 31.70% were single households and 14.80% had someone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.82 people.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 22.00% residents under the age of 18, 5.90% between 18 and 24 years old, 23.30% between 25 and 44 years old, 28.70% between 45 and 64 years old 20.00% were 65 years of age or over.
