Niobrara County is a county in the state of Wyoming in the United States . At the 2010 census , Niobrara County had 2,484 residents. The county seat is in Lusk .

The county covers an area of 6,806 square kilometers, of which 5 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the counties: Weston County , Custer County, South Dakota, Fall River County, South Dakota, Sioux County, Nebraska, Goshen County , Platte County, and Converse County .

According to the 2000 census, the population of Niobrara County was 2,407. There were 1,011 households and 679 families. The population density was less than 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 98.05% White, 0.12% African American, 0.50% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 0.50% other races Groups; 0.71% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.50% percent of the population.
Of the 1,011 households, 27.10% had children and adolescents under the age of 18 living with them. 57.60% were married couples living together, 6.00% percent were single mothers, 32.80% were non-families. 29.50% were single households and 14.10% had someone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.28 and the average family size was 2.81 people.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 22.60% of residents under 18 years of age, 6.10% between 18 and 24 years of age, 26.00% between 25 and 44 years of age, 26.60% between 45 and 64 years of age 18.70% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 95.20 males, for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 88.80 males.
