The Laramie County is a county in the southeast of the US -amerikanischen state of Wyoming . At the 2010 census , the county had 91,738 people and a population density of 13.2 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Cheyenne .

The county is located in the extreme southeast of Wyoming, bordered by Nebraska to the east and Colorado to the south . Laramie County covers an area of 6,961 square kilometers; 4 square kilometers of it are water surfaces. It borders on the following counties:

history
Laramie County was founded in 1867. The county's name comes from Jacques La Ramee , a French-Canadian fur trader and mountain man who lived in the area in the 1820s.

Laramie County's population was 81,607 as of the 2000 census . There were 31,927 households and 21,614 families. The population density was 12 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 88.92% White, 2.60% African American, 0.85% Native American, 0.95% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, and 4.00% other ethnic groups Groups; 2.57% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any ethnic group or belonging to any of the above mentioned groups were 10.90 percent of the population.
Of the 31,927 households, 33.20% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 53.90% were married couples living together, 9.90% percent were single mothers, 32.30% were non-families. 27.20% are single households and 8.90% have someone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.98.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 25.80% of residents under 18 years of age, 9.60% between 18 and 24 years of age, 30.50% between 25 and 44 years of age, 22.70% between 45 and 64 years of age 11.50% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were statistically 100.90 males, for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were statistically 100.00 males.
