history

Laramie County was founded in 1867. The county's name comes from Jacques La Ramee , a French-Canadian fur trader and mountain man who lived in the area in the 1820s.

Laramie County's population was 81,607 as of the 2000 census . There were 31,927 households and 21,614 families. The population density was 12 people per square kilometer.
