Sweetwater County is a county in the state of Wyoming in the United States . At the 2010 census , Sweetwater County had 43,806 residents. The county seat is Green River .

As of the 2000 census , there were 37,613 people in Sweetwater County. There were 14,105 households and 10,099 families. The population density was 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 91.62% White, 0.73% African American, 1.01% Native American, 0.64% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, and 3.59% other races Groups; 2.37% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 9.42% percent of the population.

Of the 14,105 households, 38.20% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 57.80% were married couples living together, 9.20% percent were single mothers, 28.40% were non-families. 23.60% are single households and 6.90% have someone living there who is 65 years of age or over.
