history

The DHC Langenthal was founded on November 26, 1986. In the 1987/88 season, the team took 3rd place in the western group. At the end of the 1988/89 season, the DHC was promoted to the top division in Switzerland, the then performance class A , from which the team was relegated a year later. Without a single defeat in the 1991/92 season, they were promoted to performance class A, in which the team won the runner-up in 1993. In the 1993/94 season, the women of the DHC succeeded in becoming Swiss champions for the first time in the club's history .

Before the 1996/97 season, the DHC founded a second women's team to better bring the youngsters up to the level of performance class A. This second team formed a syndicate with players from SC Reinach and took part in performance class C (third division). In 2003 a syndicate was founded with DHC Napf.

Between 2001 and 2003 the first team of the DHC played again in performance class A, after which they were relegated to the LKB .

As of the 2004/05 season, DHC Langenthal played in the first division again, at the same time cooperations were agreed with DEHC Biel and HC Sursee in order to offer every player the right team and level of play. In 2006, the DHC decided to establish a third women's team.
