The Swiss Women's Hockey League C ( SWHL C for short ; performance class C until 2014 , LKC or LK C for short) is the third-highest women's ice hockey division in Switzerland . It was founded in 1995 by the Swiss Ice Hockey Association as performance class C, when the 29 teams in Switzerland were divided into three divisions. At that time 17 clubs belonged to performance class C, which competed against each other in three regional relays.
A new league is planned for the 2017/2018 season, which will include the best C teams in two groups between SWHL B and SWHL C. The aim is to achieve a more balanced championship at this level.
