The 2001/2002 season of the Performance Class A was the 13th staging of the top division in the Swiss woman Hockey and also the 16th Swiss championship. The title won for the second time in the club history of SC Reinach .

mode

Before the 2001/02 season, a new game mode was decided by the Swiss Ice Hockey Association in order to make the league more attractive overall. The championship is no longer decided after 20 rounds, but as part of a final tournament. The 4 best teams after qualifying play the two participants in the semifinals, in which the Swiss champions are then determined.

In the promotion and relegation battle, a best-of-three series was introduced between the LKA last placed and the LKB champion.
