Damien Fleury (born February 1, 1986 in Caen ) is a French ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble in the Ligue Magnus since May 2018 .
Career
Damien Fleury began his career as a hockey player with the Drakkars de Caen , for whom he played from 2003 to 2006 and with whom he rose to the Ligue Magnus , the highest French ice hockey league, in the 2004/05 season . In the 2005/06 season he received the Trophée Jean-Pierre Graff as the best young player in the Ligue Magnus. After the winger spent the 2006/07 season with the first division club Ours de Villard-de-Lans , he was under contract with their league rivals Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble from summer 2007 . With Grenoble he was French champion in 2009 . In addition, he and his team won the Coupe de France and the Trophée des Champions in 2008 and 2009, and the Coupe de la Ligue in 2009 . He himself received the 2010 Albert Hassler trophy as the best French player of the year in the Ligue Magnus.
For the 2010/11 season Fleury was signed by VIK Västerås HK from HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division. At Västerås he immediately became a leading player and in his first year as a professional abroad scored 25 goals and made 13 assists in a total of 50 games. In April 2011 Fleury signed a two-year contract with Luleå HF in the Elitserien , valid from the 2011/12 season . Fleury left the club, however, after completing 20 matches in the Elitserien during the same season and agreed in November 2011 with Timrå IK on a contractual relationship with a term until the end of the 2011/12 season. Following the season he moved to the Swedish second division club Södertälje SK . Via Lausanne HC and Vaasan Sport as well as Djurgårdens IF , his path led him to the Schwenninger Wild Wings. In the 2014/15 season he was one of the top players there. Before the start of the 2015/16 season, it was announced that Fleury was moving to the newly founded Kunlun Red Star in the Russian professional league KHL.
He returned to the Wild Wings in November 2017.
International
For the French national ice hockey team , Fleury took part in the junior division exclusively in the U20 Junior B World Championship in 2006 and had two assists in five games. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the A World Championships in 2009 and 2011 .
