Daniel A. Sudick , also Dan Sudick , is an American VFX supervisor who u. a. for the films Master & Commander - Until the End of the World , War of the Worlds , Iron Man , Iron Man 2 , Iron Man 3 each received an Oscar nomination.

Life

In 1991 he was responsible for the special effects for the first time in the film The Poison Dwarf . Films like Kevin - Alone in New York , Jumanji and A Matter of Negotiation followed in the following years . In 1999 he worked for the first time as a special effects coordinator in the comedy film Lebenslänge by Ted Demme . He also had this task in 2002 for the film Imzeichen der Libelle and in 2003 for Master & Commander - To the End of the World . For his performance in this film, he was nominated for an Oscar for best visual effects along with Stefen Fangmeier , Nathan McGuinness and Robert Stromberg . In the same year he was seen in National Security for the first and so far only time in a supporting role in front of the camera.

He received the next nomination in the category Best Visual Effects in 2006 along with Dennis Muren , Pablo Helman and Randy Dutra for War of the Worlds , followed by the nomination in 2009 for the film Iron Man and 2011 for Iron Man 2 . Other nominations followed, but despite seven nominations for the Oscar, he has not yet won the award.
