Nathan McGuinness

Nathan McGuinness (* before 1998 in Perth , Australia ) is an Australian special effects artist , the 2004 Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World for the Oscar in the category visual effects best was nominated.

Life

He grew up the son of a television marketing manager in Perth. In 1997 he moved to Los Angeles, started working as a digital artist for the visual effects company Planet Blue and was involved in the film Pleasantville - Too good to be true . In 1999 he founded the special effects company Asylum VFX together with his wife Emma .

In the years that followed, he worked as a VFX Supervisor on films such as Pearl Harbor , Bad Company and Catch Me If You Can . In 2004 he was for Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World for the Oscar in the category visual effects best nominated.

In 2010 he had to close Asylum VFX. and shortly afterwards started at Double Negative , for which he worked temporarily in Singapore .
