Daniela Daubner (* 3. August 1990 in Bietigheim-Bissingen / Baden-Württemberg as Daniela Ferenz ) is a German athlete , focusing on long sprints and middle distance running has specialized and season passes.

career path

Daniela Daubner graduated from the Alfred-Amann-Gymnasium in Bönnigheim in 2009 and began studying process and environmental technology at Heilbronn University in the same year . She successfully completed this with a Master of Science degree in 2016 . In addition, she works as a trainer in athletics student training and works on the editorial team of the club's internal magazine. Daubner is currently working as an engineer at the Bietigheim-Bissingen municipal utility.

Athletic career

Daniela Daubner came to athletics through volleyball at Spvgg Besigheim . She started early with distances of 800 and 2000 meters , but found that shorter distances suit her longer.

In 2008 Daubner came in 5th place in the German U20 championships over 400 meters .

In 2009 she took 3rd place at the German U23 championships after hard training up to six times a week and won the A-youth championship at the German championships in Ulm with the 4 x 400 meter relay. Internationally, Daubner first came 3rd in the relay at the U20 World Championships . Later she became runner-up after the Ukrainian quartet had been disqualified for doping by Olha Semljak . At the youth championships, Daubner was again up front as German U20 runner-up over the 400 meters.

In 2010 she came in the active class at the German Championships with a season best over the 400 meters in 7th place.

In 2011 Daubner started at the German University Championships and won the runner-up title in the 400 meters. At the German U23 championships , she took 4th place.

In 2012 Daubner became German U23 champion , then it became quiet around her.

In 2015 Daubner reported back with a 3rd place at the German Indoor Championships over the 400 meters. At the German championships she came 4th and 5th at the European team championships with the 4 x 400 meter relay. In the team, she was team vice-European champion .

In 2016 Daubner came 5th twice, at the German Championships over 400 meters and with the 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Championships in Amsterdam . This was followed by her nomination for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

Daubner belongs to the B-team of the German Athletics Association (DLV) .

Daniela Daubner starts for the LG Neckar-Enz , an athletics association of Spvgg.Besigheim, TSV Bietigheim , TSV Bönnigheim and VfL Gemmrigheim. In 2005 she went to TSV Bönnigheim , but remained a member of Spvgg Besigheim . She has been working for TSV Bietigheim since 2015.

Trivia

Her sister Nicole, who is two years younger than her, competes in almost the same disciplines. Together with older sister Katrin, they won the title at the South German Indoor Championships in 2012 in the 4 x 400 meter relay. All three are active as trainers at TSV Bönnigheim, Nicole and Daniela are also involved with TSV Bietigheim.
