Career

Danilo moved in 2010 from the Brazilian club Gremio Porto Alegre to Austria for the second division club SC Austria Lustenau . There he was a regular for three years. Although he was still one of the regular players in the 2nd Bundesliga , he made his first Bundesliga appearance on matchday 17 in the home game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen , which was the only one for Ingolstadt due to an injury. After his contract, which was running out at the end of the season, had not been extended, Danilo left the club.

From the beginning of October 2016 Danilo, who had an injured toe, trained in the rehabilitation facility of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . At the end of November 2016, the club provided him with a contract and integrated him into the training of the second team. With the start of winter preparation, Danilo moved up into the first team's squad. At the end of the 2016/17 season he was bid farewell at TSG Hoffenheim.

At the beginning of July 2020, he extended his contract with second division VfL Bochum until 2024.
