That was gone
That was gone is a series produced by ZDF . In 45-minute documentaries, products and phenomena that have disappeared from everyday life are discussed. So far, one pilot episode and twelve regular episodes have aired. The series is broadcast by the ZDFinfo program and is repeated there at irregular intervals.

Each episode describes five to six products or phenomena that shaped everyday life in Germany in the second half of the 20th century, but largely disappeared at the turn of the millennium, replaced by more modern products or pushed into a niche existence.
layout
The individual contributions consist of cuts from contemporary television programs (including advertising, documentaries, magazine programs, news) as well as explanations by experts on the respective subject. In addition, celebrities present their memories of the topic and around ten-year-old children try to get to the bottom of the meaning of the largely unknown objects.
The programs often begin with the sentence “ Nothing is as old as yesterday's future. Awesome then - gone today ”.
