Dave O'Neal
David C. O'Neal (born January 24, 1937 in Belleville , Illinois ) is an American politician . Between 1977 and 1981 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Illinois.
Career
David O'Neal attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy and served for some time in the United States Marine Corps . Professionally, he worked in the pharmaceutical business, among other things. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In 1976 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Illinois at the side of James R. Thompson . He held this office between January 10, 1977 and his resignation on July 31, 1981. He was Deputy Governor .
1980 David O'Neal ran unsuccessfully for the US Senate . In July 1981 he announced his resignation from the post of lieutenant governor. Afterwards he no longer appeared politically.
