David Graf (born April 16, 1950 in Lancaster , Ohio - † April 7, 2001 in Phoenix , Arizona ) was an American film actor .

Graf, a graduate of Lancaster High School (1968) and Otterbein University (1972) was concluded this as a trained theater intendant from. After three years attending Ohio State University , Graf decided to become an actor in 1975. He made his film debut in 1981 in an episode of the television series A Duke Seldom Comes Alone .

He became known in the USA as well as in Europe from 1984 through the role of the crazy police officer Eugene Tackleberry in the Police Academy film series. He embodied this role in all seven parts until 1994 as well as in a guest role in the television series of the same name .

In 1985 he married the eight years younger film actress Kathryn MacDonald , with whom he had two sons. Like his grandfather and father, Graf had heart problems. At the same age as his two ancestors - nine days before his 51st birthday - he died of a heart attack .
