Career
David Květoň began his career in his hometown with TJ Nový Jičín , where he went through the youth teams. From 2003 he ran parallel for the U18 and U20 junior team of Vsetínská hokejová in the respective division. He also made his debut for the club's professional team in the extra league during the 2003/04 season . In the following season he completed six Extraliga games for Vsetín, where he succeeded his first goal in the Extraliga, seven appearances for his home club in the 2nd division and was otherwise used in the U20 junior Vsetín. For this he scored 48 scorer points in the main round and eleven points in eight playoff games in 36 games.
The performances shown helped him to get a permanent place in the professional squad of Vsetínská hokejová in the 2005/06 season. In a total of 48 games, Květoň, who only turned 18 in the middle of the season, collected twelve scorer points. Because of these achievements and his appearance at the U18 World Junior Championships in 2006 , he was also interesting for the franchises of the National Hockey League and was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2006 in 104th place by the New York Rangers . However, he stayed in Vsetín for a few months before he moved to North America to the Olympiques de Gatineau in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . At the Olympiques he performed well, but could not recommend himself during the Rangers training camp in the summer of 2007 for any contract and returned to the Czech Republic. There he was committed by HC Oceláři Třinec , for whom he has played since then. In addition to captain Jan Peterek , he developed into a leading player in the team. In the 2008/09 season he scored 49 points in 51 games, and a total of 37 points in the following season.
At the end of the 2010/11 season Květoň reached the playoff final with his team, in which the steel miners defeated HC Vítkovice Steel with 4-1 victories and thus won the first championship title in the club's history. To this success Květoň contributed 19 scorer points in 18 playoff games.
In July 2013 Květoň was signed by Kärpät Oulu from the SM-liiga , but returned to Třinec in October of the same year.
